Houston mayor to participate with Hall, other candidates in public forum Sunday


HOUSTON— Houston Mayor Annise Parker and challenger Ben Hall are among the candidates who have confirmed their attendance at a forum from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, October 27 at One Delta Plaza Educational Center, 333 Old Spanish Trail.

The event is open to the public and members of the media.

The forum is co-sponsored by the Houston Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc and the Houston Association of Black Journalists (HABJ).

Candidates for the following offices have committed to appear:

Houston Mayor:  Don Cook, Eric Dick, Keryl Douglas, Ben Hall, Victoria Lane, Annise Parker

Houston City Council District B: James Joseph

Houston City Council District D: Dwight Boykins, Lana Edwards, Georgia Provost, Demetria Smith, Anthony Robinson,

Houston City Council At--Large Position 2: Andrew Burks, Trebor Gordon, Modesto Rivera--‐Colon

Houston City Council At--Large Position 3: J. Brad Batteau, Rogene Gee Calvert, Roland Chavez

Houston City Council At--Large Position 4: C.O. “Brad” Bradford

Houston City Council At--Large Position 5: Carolyn Evans--‐Shabazz

HISD Board of Trustees, District 9: Wanda Adams, W. Clyde Lemon

A representative for City Controller Ronald Green, who is running for re-election, also has confirmed and additional candidates may be present.  Election Day is Tuesday, November 5.
