HABJ
will Host Forum on Media’s Coverage of the Black
Community

HOUSTON
– October 25, 2007– The Houston Association
of Black Journalists (HABJ) will host a forum on the
media’s coverage of the black community Thursday,
Nov. 1 from 7p.m. – 9p.m. at the Rice Memorial
Center at Rice University.
A
dynamic panel will be on hand to discuss some of the
most provocative issues covered locally and nationally
about African-Americans. Issues ranging from the Jena
6 to Michael Vick and former Texas Southern University
President Priscilla Slade will be discussed.
The
panelists include KCOH radio talk show host Michael
Harris, former Texas Senator Craig Washington, Millions
Movement More Ministry’s Deric Muhammed, Houston
Defender publisher Sonny Messiah-Jiles, and KPRC-TV
senior producer Kim Davis.
